It started in a 300 sq ft space with a second-hand espresso machine, a chalkboard menu, and an unwavering belief that coffee could be more than caffeine — it could be culture.
Our founder, Elena Rodriguez, had spent years working on coffee farms in Colombia and Ethiopia before returning home with a vision: bring the farmer's story directly to the cup.
Artisanal Café opens its doors in the Marlow district with a handwritten menu and a single espresso machine. The line stretches around the block by day three.
We sign our first direct-trade agreement with Finca La Paloma in Colombia. Every bean is now traceable from seed to sip, and farmers receive 30% above market rate.
We open our glass-walled roastery — visible to every customer. The roasting process becomes part of the experience. Best Specialty Café award follows the same year.
